Revelation 5:4-5 The Way Out of Tears

Revelation 5:4-5 (KJV)
And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon.
And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.

There is a practical lesson here that might be missed as we gaze upon the spiritual.

At first John wept.
Life is filled with opportunities to weep. There are heartaches, disappointments and upsets in every realm we witness:

  • Family
  • Finance
  • Government
  • Church

The angel was sure to show John that thing over which he wept. He even let him weep much for a time.

John was then encouraged
As difficult as things appeared to be, all was not lost. There was no man but there was the Lion of the Tribe of Judah.

God often brings us to places of great sorrow. We’ll generally be there long enough to weep much. But then God will point us to Jesus.

In every case the way out of tears is Christ.
