Ezekiel 29:2-3 My Planet, My Own

Ezekiel 29:2-3 (KJV)
Son of man, set thy face against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and prophesy against him, and against all Egypt:
Speak, and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, Pharaoh king of Egypt, the great dragon that lieth in the midst of his rivers, which hath said, My river is mine own, and I have made it for myself.

The arrogance that believes man made the things of the earth, that we are our own gods, is not far from that idolatry that worships the things of the earth as products of Mother Nature. In each case too much is made of the things of the earth.

Our governor has announced his candidacy for President of the United States and has declared his platform to be almost wholly an environmental one. In this he has, in effect, joined with the new wildly socialist congress woman Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez. One of her first acts in office was to introduce what she called “The Green New Deal” a radical environmental proposal suggesting, among other things, the elimination of air travel within ten years.

Bible believing Christians understand that we are not to abuse the resources of our planet. God’s earliest duties for Adam were to dress and keep it. That’s stewardship – the smart and efficient use of our world’s resources. On the other hand, Romans chapter one clearly identifies one of the worse of end time sins as worshiping the creature rather than the creator.

It is telling that the New Testament, and Jesus Himself, clearly points to the end of this earth. Jesus said, Luke21:33
Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

Frankly, some of the wild-eyed energy of the environmentalist left is an attack against the plan of God and not really an appeal to take care of what we have.
