2 Timothy 2:19 No Confusion Here

2 Timothy 2:19 (KJV)
Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

Once in a while a person needs to step away from all the confusion and anxiety of daily life to simply focus on what is true and sure. The Apostle Paul gives us two of those sureties in this verse.

The LORD Knows them that are His

  • Do you belong to the Lord?
  • Have you called upon Him to save you?
  • Does the Holy Spirit of God witness to your own spirit that you are the child of God?
  • Do you hear His voice?
  • Are you constrained to follow His voice?

The Lord knows His own. You haven’t been out of His sight. You are not lost to God. You are not wandering your path alone.

Let every one that names the name of Christ depart from iniquity
There’s nothing to pray about here. A Christian walks away from sin, iniquity, and transgressions. He or she quits them in his or her own life. They avoid the influence of those that would lead them into sin. They remove themselves from the fellowship of those that do iniquity.

Life is confusing sometimes. We do not have to be confused about these.
