Isaiah 54:14 This Righteousness

Isaiah 54:14 (KJV)
In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee.

No question, Isaiah 53 is the Crucifixion of Jesus. Chapter 54 clearly teaches about the inclusion of the Gentiles into God’s plan (which was always God’s plan). Verses 11-17 are especially helpful. I encourage everyone to read them with care and earnest.

God tells us in our passage that we are established in righteousness. That righteousness, we know, is not our own but gifted us through Jesus Christ.

This righteousness strengthens us in times of oppression
Through this righteousness, we are often prevented from going through certain types of trouble. But there are seasons when such trouble looks for the righteous.

This righteousness will deliver is from fear
Things happen. They are happening right now. Though the world lives in fear and would love to put us in fear, in Christ we have nothing to fear.

This righteousness keeps terror from us
We know we have the victory. It is so sure that even death has no sting.
