Hebrews 2:16-18 (KJV)
For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham.
Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.
For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.
Consider the depth of the love God poured upon us in sending Jesus to be made “like unto His brethren.” The Word of God says He was made like unto us “in all things.” That included temptation, and that included death.
He did not take on Himself the nature of angels, though He is sometimes likened to one in the Old Testament. But He did take on Him the seed of Abraham.
- Let us marvel
- Let us humble ourselves
- Let us rejoice and
Let us devote ourselves fully to Him.
