2 Corinthians 5:5-6 (KJV)
Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit.
Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:
Paul was confident. He said so twice.
But his confidence was not in himself. He was confident because he knew that God had wrought or made him for the purpose of life swallowing up mortality.
- He knew the purpose of God was more than a few years on earth.
- He knew that God had created him to live forever.
- He knew that death, whenever it came, would only usher in this life God had created him to experience.
- He knew that when this tabernacle we currently reside in dissolves, there is a house awaiting us in heaven.
- He knew to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.
Knowing these, he was confident to deliver the Word of God in whatever circumstance.
 2 Corinthians 5:8 (KJV)
We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
 2 Corinthians 5:4 (KJV)
For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.
 2 Corinthians 5:1 (KJV)
For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
