Hebrews 2:15 Through Death He Conquered Death

Hebrews 2:15 (KJV)
And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

  • “The day thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die”[1]
  • “For the wages of sin is death”[2]
  • “And as it is appointed unto man once to die”[3]

That thing that binds us most in life is our mortality. We know we will die, and we fear it. So Jesus defeated death in the most confrontational way. He defeated death by and through death.

Jesus defeated death by death and now the Bible assures us that believers enter a life where death is dead through our own death.

We need no longer to fear death because through it we come to live eternally.
