Ezekiel 9:10 (KJV)
And as for me also, mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity, but I will recompense their way upon their head.
This chapter and those surrounding it are, I believe, clearly Tribulational. It’s Daniel’s seventieth week. In the final seven years of earth as we now know it, God will turn His attention once again to the Jews.
In His full measure of love, God will not content Himself until Israel is saved. Mind you, this is speaking nationally. Just as any individual Jew may be saved today, any individual Jew may be lost in the day foretold, and it appears many will.
- It is God’s love for them that will not forget them
- It is God’s love for them that brings upon them His recompense
- It is God’s love for them that will not spare
The prophet prayed for the eye of God to show mercy. I am thankful that God’s mercies are new every morning. But I also know that men can be so merciful that we would never correct. This can lead to those we love being trapped in a cycle of self destruction. Correction is a merciful act.
You will find mercy in the chapter. There is the one with the ink horn. He’s on a mission from heaven to mark all those who sigh over the sins in Jerusalem. God does mark and call out a people. They are those who, in a broken and contrite heart, have been crying out to Him.
