Numbers 15:1-2 Nothing Changed

Numbers 15:1-2 (KJV)
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land of your habitations, which I give unto you,

Israel could have forfeited the Promised Land here on two counts:
First, they would not enter because of unbelief
God brought them right to the edge of the promise, but they refused to believe God would give it to them. In their minds, it was all about them. They saw the enemy. They saw themselves. They did not see God

Then, they tried to enter without the help of God
It was still unbelief. They did not believe God spoke through Moses. They did not believe him when he said God would give it to them. They did not believe him when he said God would not give it to them at that time.

It would have been easy to come home from the defeat at Hormah, expecting they had lost the promise for good.

Enter Numbers chapter fifteen. Without so much as beating an eyebrow or a sigh of disappointment, God moved on with instructions for when they entered the Promised Land. It would be forty years out, but nothing, so far as God’s plan, had changed.

  • We mess up a lot of stuff with our sin
  • We do not mess up God’s plan

Be thankful for that.
