Matthew 11:26 To Those In Need: You Are Welcome Here

Matthew 11:26 (KJV)
Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight.

Jesus gave this well-known invitation to come to Him at the end of prayer. God had determined to reveal the truth to babes, not the “wise and prudent.” This is not election as the Calvinists define it. It is akin to Jesus’s saying, “they that are whole have no need of the physician.[1]

Jesus said that it seemed good to the Father that:

  • All things are delivered to Jesus
  • No man would know the Son but the Father
  • No man would know the Father but the Son
  • And whomsoever Jesus chose to reveal Him

To whom did Jesus choose to reveal the Father?

The answer is in the invitation; “All ye that labor and are heavy laden.

  • It’s like the babes and not the wise
  • It’s like the sick and not the whole
  • It’s like the sinners and not the righteous
  • It’s like the lost and not those who believe they are found[2]

Jesus offers the invitation to ALL who have a need…

…Because they are the ONLY ones who will respond to the invitation.

[1] Mark 2:17 (KJV)
When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

[2] Luke 19:10 (KJV)
For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.
